An Exercise stress test helps physicians determine how the heart handles
the stress of exercise. As the body works harder during the exercise,
it requires more oxygen and the heart has to pump more blood. The test
can show if the blood supply is reduced in the arteries that supply the
heart. Patient’s EKG and blood pressure are monitored during the test.
If at patient is unable to walk on the treadmill, pharmacological stress
testing is available. |
